Kellerkinder

Youth with no boundaries

Kadir “Amigo” Memis on aggression and how digital culture

and youth slang influence each other.

Why do we use the creative potential of language to exclude, denounce and hurt others? And why do exactly these acts sometimes feel so good? In close cooperation with composer Ketan Bhattidas, Kadir “Amigo” Memis investigates youth slang and language codes in his newest production “Kellerkinder”. His starting point is the gathered experience of youth from a school context, the streets and the digital realm. Five performing artists and one live-musician transfer the destructive power of words onto a linguistic and a bodily reflection, a battle of Rap and Urban dance.
